Abstract
An input image (7) having a first pixel resolution is acquired from an image capture system (2). A respective characterization of each of at least one visual quality feature of the input image (7) is determined. An output thumbnail image (9) is produced from the input image (7). The output thumbnail image (9) reflects the respective characterization of each visual quality feature. The output thumbnail image (9) has a second pixel resolution lower than the first pixel resolution. The output thumbnail image (9) is output in association with operation of the image capture system (2).
Claims20
A computer-implemented method, comprising:
- acquiring an input image (7) having a first pixel resolution from an image capture system (2);
- determining a respective characterization of each of at least one visual quality feature of the input image (7);
- producing from the input image (7) an output thumbnail image (9) that reflects the respective characterization of each visual quality feature and that has a second pixel resolution lower than the first pixel resolution;
- and
- outputting the output thumbnail image (9) in association with operation of the image capture system (2).
Apparatus, comprising:
- a display (156);
- a memory (157);
- and
- a processing unit (155) coupled to the memory (157) and the display (156) and operable to perform operations comprising
- acquiring an input image (7) having a first pixel resolution from an image capture system (152);
- determining a respective characterization of each of at least one visual quality feature of the input image (7);
- producing from the input image (7) an output thumbnail image (9) that reflects the respective characterization of each visual quality feature and that has a second pixel resolution lower than the first pixel resolution;
- and
- outputting the output thumbnail image (9) in association with operation of the image capture system (152).
A computer readable medium (157) storing computer-readable instructions causing a computer (154) to perform operations comprising:
- acquiring an input image (7) having a first pixel resolution from an image capture system (152);
- determining a respective characterization of each of at least one visual quality feature of the input image (7);
- producing from the input image (7) an output thumbnail image (9) that reflects the respective characterization of each visual quality feature and that has a second pixel resolution lower than the first pixel resolution;
- and
- rendering the output thumbnail image (9) in a preview window (164) on a display (156) in association with operation of the image capture system (152).
