Abstract
Some embodiments of a system and a method to dynamically tune a computing system have been presented. In one embodiment, a processing device running in a computing system monitors usage of one or more hardware components of the computing system to determine a load on each hardware component. The processing device may tune each hardware component based on the load of a respective hardware component determined, and a respective weight associated with the respective hardware component. The hardware components may be tuned to reduce power consumption or to improve performance of the computing system.
Claims27
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- monitoring, by a processing device running in a computing system, usage of one or more hardware components of the computing system to determine a load on each of the one or more hardware components;
- and
- tuning, by the processing device, each of the one or more hardware components based on the load determined and a respective weight associated with a respective hardware component.
An apparatus comprising:
- a set of one or more hardware components;
- and
- a processing device to monitor usage of the set of one or more hardware components to determine a load on each of the set of one or more hardware components while executing one or more applications, and to tune each of the set of one or more hardware components based on the load of a respective hardware component determined and a weight associated with the respective hardware component.
A computer-readable storage medium embodying instructions that, when executed by a processing device, will cause the processing device to perform a method comprising:
- monitoring, by the processing device running in a computing system, usage of one or more hardware components of the computing system to determine a load on each of the one or more hardware components;
- and
- tuning, by the processing device, each of the one or more hardware components based on the load determined and a respective weight associated with a respective hardware component.
