Financial instrument management using object differentiation

An article comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, perform the steps of:

• parsing by the processor a data object stored on the computer-readable storage medium into a plurality of subparts, the data object representing a single complex financial instrument;
• for each of the plurality of subparts, retrieving an associated object differentiation key;
• generating by a price calculator a key figure for each of the plurality of subparts based upon at least the associated object differentiation key;
• and
• displaying a list of the plurality of subparts and the generated key figure for each of the plurality of subparts.

A computer system for managing financial instruments using object differentiation comprising:

• a processor;
• a computer-readable storage medium;
• and
• a display device;
• wherein the processor performs the steps of:
• parsing a data object stored on the computer-readable storage medium into a plurality of subparts, the data object representing a single complex financial instrument;
• for each of the plurality of subparts, retrieving an associated object differentiation key;
• generating by a price calculator a key figure for each of the plurality of subparts based upon at least the associated object differentiation key;
• and
• displaying on the display device a list of the plurality of subparts and the generated key figure for each of the plurality of subparts.
