A method for operating an internet web site for facilitating social networking interactions between persons accessing the internet web site, the method comprising:

• providing an on-line advertisement in a first viewable location, the on-line advertisement represented by a symbol;
• receiving a selection of the on-line advertisement, the selection indicating a liking of the on-line advertisement by a first user;
• in response to receiving the selection, adding the symbol of the selected on-line advertisement to a second viewable location, the second viewable location being indicative of the liking of the on-line advertisement by the first user as viewed by a second user;
• detecting interaction associated with the on-line advertisement by the second user when the symbol is at the second viewable location;
• and
• providing a reward in response to the detected interaction associated with the symbol, the reward being related to goods or services that are a subject of the on-line advertisement;
• wherein the internet web site is presented on a display of a computing system having a processor;
• wherein the computing system is connected to a server having program instructions for managing interactivity with the internet web site, the server having a processor.

A method for operating an internet web site for facilitating social networking interactions between persons accessing the internet web site over a period of time using one or more views of the internet web site, the method comprising:

• providing a plurality of on-line advertisements in a first viewable location, each on-line advertisement represented by a link to additional detail regarding the on-line advertisement;
• receiving a selection of at least one of the plurality of on-line advertisements, the selection indicating a liking of the on-line advertisement by a first user;
• in response to receiving the selection, adding information about the selected on-line advertisement to a second viewable location, the second viewable location being indicative of the liking of the on-line advertisement by the first user;
• detecting selection of the on-line advertisement by a second user at the second viewable location;
• and
• providing a reward in response to the detected selection, the reward being related to goods or services that are a subject of the on-line advertisement;
• wherein the internet web site is presented on a display of a computing system having a processor;
• wherein the computing system is connected to a server having program instructions for managing interactivity with the internet web site, the server having a processor.
