Medical device lead including a flared conductive coil

An implantable medical device lead comprising:

• an insulative lead body;
• an outer conductive coil extending through the lead body, the outer conductive coil coupled to a proximal electrode at a distal end of the outer conductive coil, wherein the outer conductive coil has an outer conductive coil diameter;
• and
• an inner conductive coil extending coaxially with the outer conductive coil, the inner conductive coil coupled to a distal electrode at a distal end of the inner conductive coil, wherein the inner conductive coil transitions from a first inner conductive coil diameter to a larger second inner conductive coil diameter between the proximal electrode and the distal electrode, and wherein the inner conductive coil extends through the insulative lead body between the proximal and distal electrodes.

A medical device, comprising:

• a pulse generator;
• and
• a lead including a lead body, an outer conductive coil extending through the lead body, and an inner conductive coil extending coaxially with the outer conductive coil,
• the outer conductive coil including a proximal end and a distal end and configured to connect to the pulse generator at the proximal end and coupled to a proximal electrode at the distal end, wherein the outer conductive coil has an outer conductive coil diameter,
• the inner conductive coil including a proximal end and a distal end, the inner conductive coil configured to connect to the pulse generator at the proximal end and coupled to a distal electrode at the distal end, wherein the inner conductive coil transitions from a first inner conductive coil diameter to a larger second inner conductive coil diameter between the proximal electrode and the distal electrode, and wherein the inner conductive coil extends through the insulative lead body between the proximal and distal electrodes.
