Abstract
A trocar and cannula assembly with improved conical valve that incorporates a plurality of ribs to restrict and/or otherwise influence valve movement, and a plurality of improved convolutes and bumps to enhance performance characteristics.
Claims24
A conical valve for use with a trocar and cannula assembly, comprising:
- a valve body having a proximal end and a distal end;
- a valve periphery connected to said proximal end of said valve body, said valve periphery further comprising a valve ring;
- a baffle defined proximate to and extending radially from said valve ring;
- a plurality of convolutes defined proximate to and extending radially from said baffle, and
- a plurality of ribs defined proximate and sequentially spaced relative said plurality of convolutes, and extending from said baffle to said valve body.
2 more elements
A cannula valve, comprising:
- a valve body having a proximal end and a distal end;
- a periphery valve section connected to and extending radially outwardly from a periphery of said proximal end of said valve body;
- at least one convolute defined within said periphery valve section;
- a plurality of rib members radially extending at least a portion of the distance between said periphery of said valve body and an outer perimeter of said periphery valve section;
- a valve ring;
- and
- a circumferential baffle defined between said plurality of convolutes and an inner perimeter of said valve ring.
