Abstract
The subject matter disclosed herein relates to a system and method for automatically identifying features of an electronic map.

A method, comprising:
- accessing one or more electronic maps showing features of a structure;
- electronically extracting features from the one or more electronic maps;
- identifying one or more hallways on the one or more electronic maps based at least in part on one or more line segments extending between at least one electronically extracted entryway and one or more electronically extracted structural elements or one or more other entryways based at least in part on the features;
- and
- updating the one or more electronic maps with one or more annotations identifying the one or more hallways.

- a receiver to receive one or more electronic maps showing features of a structure;

- a processing unit adapted to:
- electronically extract features from the one or more electronic maps;
