Abstract
Methods and apparatus to enhance uplink link budget in Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) communication systems are described. In one embodiment, a wireless device may increase its transmit power and/or perform subchannel repetition (e.g., in a WiMAX environment) based on at least one indication by an access point. Other embodiments are also described.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- establishing a number of orthogonal frequency divisional multiplexing (OFDM) subchannels in an uplink, the uplink between a mobile station (MS) and a base station (BS);
- and
- based on the selected number of OFDM subchannels, selecting a corresponding transmit power for the uplink.
An apparatus, comprising:
- an antenna to communicate with a base station across a wireless uplink,;
- and
- logic to establish a number of orthogonal frequency divisional multiplexing (OFDM) subchannels in the uplink, and to select transmit power for the uplink based on the number of OFDM subchannels.
An article comprising a machine-accessible medium having stored thereon instructions that, when executed by a machine, cause the machine to:
- establish a number of orthogonal frequency divisional multiplexing (OFDM) subchannels in an uplink, the uplink between a mobile station (MS) and a base station (BS);
- and
- based on the selected number of OFDM subchannels, select a corresponding transmit power for the uplink.
