Abstract
There is disclosed a system, method, and computing device for recording a cinematic production. The system may include a video camera, a video recorder that records image signals generated by the video camera on a video recording medium, and a metadata writer. The metadata writer may store metadata relating to operating parameters of the video camera on a metadata storage medium.

A system, comprising:
- a video camera
- a video recorder that records image signals generated by the video camera on a video recording medium
- a metadata writer that stores metadata relating to operating parameters of the video camera on a metadata storage medium.
A method, comprising:
- a video recorder recording image signals from a video camera on a video recording medium
- a metadata writer storing metadata relating to operating parameters of the video camera on a metadata storage medium.
A computing device, comprising:
- a processor
- a memory coupled to the processor
- a storage device coupled to the processor
- a camera interface communicatively coupled to a video camera
- wherein the storage device stores instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the computing device to perform actions comprising:
- receiving data describing operating parameters of the camera through the camera interface
- storing metadata relating to the operating parameters of the video camera on a metadata storage medium.
