Inkjet printing system with movable print heads and methods thereof

A deposition printing system, the system comprising:

• two or more print units capable of moving with respect to each other, wherein a relative positioning of the print unit with respect to each other forms a print arrangement;
• and
• a controller to control movement of the print units to dynamically change the print arrangement during printing,
• wherein the printing system is configured such that one of the print units is selected as an idle print unit and is moved to a maintenance area while at least another one of the print units is printing within a print area.
