Abstract
A system and a method are provided that may be used to control the temperature of steam being reheated by a moisture separator reheater (MSR). The temperature of a steam being reheated by a MSR may be sensed, and controller embodiments may use the sensed temperature to control the transfer of heat from various MSR components into the reheated steam. By using such control embodiments, the MSR may provide optimally heated steam to other power plant components, thus increasing the performance, efficiency, and safety of a power plant.
Claims20
A system comprising:
- a steam turbine;
- a moisture separator reheater coupled to the steam turbine;
- and
- a controller configured to control a temperature of the moisture separator reheater based on sensor feedback, wherein the sensor feedback comprises a temperature measurement.
A system, comprising:
- a moisture separator reheater (MSR) controller responsive to electronic feedback signals to control a temperature of steam being reheated and dried by a MSR, wherein the electronic feedback signals comprise a temperature measurement for closed-loop control of the temperature of steam being reheated.
A method, comprising:
- sensing a temperature of steam being reheated and dried by a moisture separator reheater (MSR);
- and
- controlling heat transfer to the steam in the MSR via a controller based at least in part on the temperature being sensed.
