CB-1 receptor inverse agonist compounds of Formula (I) and pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of obesity or cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia.

A compound of the formula
- R1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, chloro, cyano, trifluoromethyl, difluoromethoxy, and trifluoromethoxy;
- R2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halo, cyano, (C1-C3) alkyl substituted with from 1 to 5 fluoro groups, and (C1-C3) alkoxy substituted with from 1 to 5 fluoro groups;
- R3 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, fluoro, and chloro;
- R4 is selected from the group consisting of trifluoromethyl, cyano and cyclopropyl;
- provided that, when R1 is hydrogen, chloro, cyano, or trifluoromethyl, then R2 is (C1-C3) alkoxy substituted with from 1 to 5 fluoro groups;
- or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
