A compound represented by formula (I) or its pharmacologically acceptable salt or their solvates:

A process for producing a compound represented by formula (I):
- wherein R represents amino or hydroxyl,
- the process comprising cultivating a kanamycin producing strain of the genus Streptomyces in a medium which comprises streptamine and/or myo-inositol to produce the compound.
