Non-basic melanin concentrating hormone receptor-1 antagonists

A compound having the following Formula I, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof:

• wherein,
• A is CR2;
• R1, R1b and R1a are the same or different and are each independently selected from the group consisting of H, halo, lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, CF3, alkoxy, and thioalkoxy;
• R2 is H or lower alkyl;
• R3 is H, halo, lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, CF3, lower alkoxy, thioalkoxy, or CN;
• R4 is —OH or -G-D-Zn;
• R5 and R5b) are the same or different and are each independently selected from the group consisting of H, halo, and lower alkyl;
• n is 1 to 3;
• G is O or S;
• D is selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, cycloalkyl and
• wherein X is —O—, —S—, —SO— or —SO2—;
• Z is independently hydrogen, hydroxyl, polyhaloalkyl, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, cycloalkyl, cycloalkoxy, OCONR6R7, CN, CONR8R9, SOR10, SO2R11, NR12COR13, NR14CO2R15, COR16, a 5- to 6-membered heteroaryl, or a 4- to 6-membered heterocycloalkyl containing no more that two heteroatoms wherein the heteroatoms are independently —O—, —S—, —SO— or —SO2—;
• R6, R7, R8, R9, R12 and R14 are the same or different and are each independently selected from the group consisting of H, lower alkyl and cycloalkyl or R6 and R7 and/or R8 and R9 together with the atoms to which they are attached may form a 4- to 7-membered ring;
• and
• R10, R11, R13, R15 and R16 are the same or different and are each independently selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl, and cycloalkyl.
