Horizontally aligned jack mounts with vertically staggered jack bores

A telecommunications assembly, comprising:

• a) a jack-receiving structure including a plurality of adjacent, horizontally aligned jack mounting locations;
• and
• b) a plurality of jacks, each jack including a jack body formed of a dielectric material, the jack body defining bores sized to receive standard tip-and-ring plugs having tip and ring contacts, each jack including a plurality of electrically conductive tip and ring springs, the tip springs being adapted to make electrical contact with the tip contacts of the plugs when the plugs are inserted within the bores, and the ring springs being adapted to make electrical contact with the ring contacts of the plugs when the plugs are inserted within the bores, each jack including a plurality of normal contacts adapted to normally make electrical contact with the tip and ring springs;
• c) wherein a first jack of the plurality of jacks is inserted within a first jack mounting location of the plurality of horizontally aligned jack mounting locations, and a second jack of the plurality of jacks is inserted within a second jack mounting location of the plurality of horizontally aligned jack mounting locations;
• d) wherein the bores of the first jack inserted within the first jack mounting location are vertically staggered relative to the bores of the second jack inserted within the second jack mounting location.
