Electrical connector retaining a print circuit board at a middle highness

An electrical connector secured to a PCB having a plurality of welding areas, comprising:

• a elongate insulative housing defining a mating face and a mounting face opposite to the mating face, the insulative housing defining blocks protruding from the mounting face and a pair of flanges at two length distal ends of the insulative housing, each block having a supporting face abutting against the PCB, the flanges resisting on two length distal ends of the PCB;
• a plurality of contacts received in the insulative housing;
• a plurality of board-lock pieces fixed to the insulative housing from the mounting face and defining a resisting portion abutting against the PCB;
• wherein
• the blocks and the board-lock pieces locate at different faces of the PCB.

An electrical connector assembly comprising:

• an elongated insulative housing extending along a lengthwise direction horizontally;
• a plurality of contacts disposed in the housing, each of said contacts including a front mating section and a rear mounting section;
• a plurality of mounting blocks unitarily formed on a rear face of the housing;
• and
• a plurality of resilient metallic tangs disposed upon the rear face of the housing and vertically aligned with and spaced from the corresponding tangs, respectively;
• wherein
• each of said blocks defines a slot extending vertically therethrough, and each of said tangs defines a bump vertically aligned with the slot of the corresponding block and downwardly viewable via said slot.
