Abstract
A process is disclosed for preparing an emulsion composition by forming a mixture of a silanol functional organopolysiloxane, a boron compound, an emulsifier, and then admixing water to the mixture to form an emulsion. The resulting emulsions are useful for providing benefits in personal care applications, particularly hair care compositions.
Claims15
An emulsion of a boron crosslinked organopolysiloxane having a viscosity of at least 1000 mPa·s at 24° C. wherein the emulsion is obtained by:
- I) forming a mixture of;
- A) a silanol functional organopolysiloxane,
- B) a boron compound,
- C) an emulsifier,
- II) admixing water to the mixture from step I) to form an emulsion,
- III) optionally, further shear mixing the emulsion.
