Abstract
A method and system for configuring a wireless router and a wireless communications network includes establishing connectivity between a wireless router and at least one wireline router. Connectivity between the wireless router and a plurality of neighboring wireless routers is established through the wireline router. The wireless router is configured based on information exchanged with the neighboring wireless routers through the wireline router.
Claims24
A method for providing connectivity between mobile devices and an Internet protocol (IP) network, comprising:
- providing a set of neighboring wireless routers, each operable to receive data packets from a mobile device and to route the data packets to the IP network;
- providing connectivity between the set of neighboring wireless routers through a set of wireline routers in the IP network;
- and
- exchanging impact information between the neighboring wireless routers to adjust operating parameters of the wireless routers in response to variations in the wireless network.
A method for providing connectivity between mobile devices and an Internet protocol (IP) network, comprising:
- receiving at a wireless router data packets from a mobile device;
- routing the data packets to the IP network;
- connecting to at least one neighboring wireless router of a set of neighboring wireless routers through at least one wireline router of a set of wireline routers in the IP network;
- and
- exchanging impact information with the at least one neighboring wireless router to adjust operating parameters of the wireless router in response to variations in the wireless network.
A wireless node for a wireless communications network, comprising:
- computer implementable instructions encoded in at least one computer processable non-transitory medium;
- the instructions operable upon processing to receive at a wireless router data packets from a mobile device, to route the data packets to the IP network, to connect to at least one neighboring wireless router of a set of neighboring wireless routers through at least one wireline router of a set of wireline routers in the IP network;
- and
- the instructions operable upon processing to exchange impact information with the at least one neighboring wireless router to adjust operating parameters of the wireless router in response to variations in the wireless network.
