Optical disc and optical disc apparatus

An optical disc, being recorded with disc information to be used in recording/reproducing control, comprising:

• a first disc information unit and a second disc information unit, each having a predetermined data size, in a predetermined management information area;
• said disc information includes write strategy information;
• said write strategy information is separated into first write strategy information and second write strategy information;
• said first disc information is recorded into said first disc information unit;
• and
• said second disc information is recorded into said second disc information unit.

An optical disc recording apparatus, comprising:

• a recording portion, which is configured to record data onto an optical disc;
• a reproducing portion, which is configured to reproduce disc information to be used in recording/reproducing control, which is recorded on said optical disc;
• a controlling portion, which is configured to control said recording portion and said reproducing portion, wherein
• said controlling portion executes the followings:
• reproducing first disc information, as a portion of said disc information from a first disc information unit of said optical disc, and reproducing second disc information, as a portion of said disc information from a second disc information unit of said optical disc, by controlling said reproducing portion, so as to combine said first disc information and said second disc information, thereby obtaining the disc information;
• determining parameters of said recording portion upon basis of said disc information;
• and
• recording predetermined data on said optical disc by controlling said recording portion.

An optical disc recording method for recording data onto an optical disc, including the following steps of:

• reproducing first disc information, as a portion of said disc information from a first disc information unit of said optical disc, and reproducing second disc information, as a portion of said disc information from a second disc information unit of said optical disc, by controlling said reproducing portion, so as to combine said first disc information and said second disc information, thereby obtaining the disc information;
• determining parameters of said recording portion upon basis of said disc information;
• and
• recording predetermined data on said optical disc by controlling said recording portion.

An optical disc reproducing apparatus, comprising:

• a first reproducing portion, which is configured to reproduce data from an optical disc;
• a second reproducing portion, which is configured to reproduce disc information to be used in recording/reproducing control, which is recorded on said optical disc;
• and
• a controlling portion, which is configured to control said first reproducing portion and said second reproducing portion, wherein
• said controlling portion executes the followings:
• reproducing first disc information, as a part of said disc information, from a first disc information unit of said optical disc, and reproducing second disc information, as a part of said disc information, from a second disc information unit of said optical disc, by controlling said second reproducing portion, so as to combine said first disc information and said second disc information, thereby obtaining the disc information;
• determining parameters of said first reproducing portion upon basis of said disc information;
• and
• reproducing data from said optical disc by controlling said first reproducing portion.

An optical disc recording method for reproducing data from an optical disc, including the following steps of:

• reproducing first disc information, as a part of said disc information, from a first disc information unit of said optical disc, and reproducing second disc information, as a part of said disc information, from a second disc information unit of said optical disc, by controlling said second reproducing portion, so as to combine said first disc information and said second disc information, thereby obtaining the disc information;
• determining parameters of said first reproducing portion upon basis of said disc information;
• and
• reproducing data from said optical disc by controlling said first reproducing portion.
