Abstract
A plasma display apparatus and a method for producing a plasma display panel are provided. The plasma display apparatus includes a panel which includes an upper panel coated with a functional material, and a lower panel located opposite a surface of the upper panel coated with the functional material, a driving circuit which drives the panel, and a base chassis on which the driving circuit is mounted.

A plasma display apparatus comprising:
- a panel which comprises an upper panel coated with a functional material comprising at least one of a material to correct color and a material to absorb near infrared rays, and a lower panel located opposite a surface of the upper panel coated with the functional material;
- a driving circuit which drives the panel;
- and
- a base chassis on which the driving circuit is mounted.

A method for producing a plasma display panel, the method comprising:
- manufacturing an upper panel;
- manufacturing a lower panel;
- combining the upper panel and the lower panel;
- and
- coating a functional material comprising at least one of a material to correct color and a material to absorb near infrared rays on an upper portion of the upper panel.
