Method of Displaying a Radar Image

A method of generating an image in the form of a disc portion on a display, the disc portion comprising a centre and a maximum radius defining a limit of the image generated, the disc portion further comprising a plurality of angular sectors, each angular sector comprising a plurality of disjoint areas, each disjoint area of an angular sector being delimited by two circular arcs defined between two radii and two straight lines formed respectively by two segments belonging to the two sides of the angular sector, the said areas being called “rings”, wherein each of the rings has a predefined and assigned rectangular envelope whose area covers the area of the ring, and wherein the method comprises:

• a first step of selecting a ring,
• a second step of comparing the area of the rectangular envelope assigned to the selected ring with at least one predefined value, dubbed the grain,
• a third step of generating a plot corresponding to the area of the said ring or to the area of the rectangular envelope, the choice of the plot being dependent on the result of the comparison.
