Method for Optimizing Processing of Character String During Execution of a Program, Computer System and Computer Program for the Same

A method of optimizing processing of a character string during execution of a program, the method comprising the steps of:

• determining, on the basis of a characteristic of a first character string and operation for the first character string, a characteristic information of at least one of the first character string and a second character string obtained as a result of the operation;
• associating the characteristic information with the at least one character string;
• and
• in a case where processing for the character string associated with the characteristic information is executed, selecting and executing processing optimized in accordance with the associated characteristic information, wherein
• the characteristic information is determined by using at least one operation among operation A, B and C below:
• A. the operation includes processing to generate a character string object including at least one second character string to which at least one first character string is assigned, and sequential processing to process the at least one first character string character by character during the generation, and
• the determining step further includes the steps of executing the sequential processing and checking the characters to be sequentially processed, in parallel with the sequential processing thereby determining the characteristic information of the at least one second character string;
• B. the operation includes sequential processing to process, character by character, the at least one first character string whose characteristic information is unknown or is not associated therewith, and
• the determining step further includes the steps of executing the sequential processing and checking the characters to be sequentially processed, in parallel with the sequential processing thereby, the determining step determines characteristic information of the at least one character string;
• C. the operation is an operation for one or more first character strings, and
• the determining step includes the step of determining characteristic information of at least one second character string on the basis of characteristic information of each of the one or more first character strings and the operation;
• and
• wherein the steps of determining and associating are carried out on a computer system executing the program that includes processing of the at least one character string.
