Abstract
The present invention relates to embodiments which enable repetitive measurement and monitoring of the load applied to an apparatus, in a system, and/or by a method which may exceed a predetermined threshold of weight. Specifically, the present invention relates to weight monitoring apparatus, locomotion monitoring apparatus, a gait-response apparatus, a weight monitoring system, and a therapeutic load monitoring method.
Claims21
A weight monitoring apparatus, comprising:
- a. a substantially rigid first member having a bottom surface;
- b. a second member having a top surface;
- c. at least two sensors, said sensors being disposed located at a position between said first member and said second member and configured to associate to said first member such that the top edge of each of said sensors is in contact with said bottom surface of said first member.
A locomotion monitoring apparatus, comprising:
- a. a plurality of sensors;
- and
- b. a substantially flat base member having a first surface and a second surface;
- wherein at least one edge of each of said plurality of sensors maintains contact with said first surface of said base member.
A gait-response apparatus, comprising:
- a. a substantially flat first member having a first surface;
- b. a substantially flat second member having a second surface;
- c. a plurality of sensors, wherein at least one edge of each of said sensors is configured to associate with said first surface of said first member, and wherein at least a second edge of each of said sensors is configured to associate with said second surface of said second member;
- wherein the apparatus provides a detectable feedback to a user if a predetermined mechanical force threshold is exceeded on at least one of said sensors.
A locomotion measuring and monitoring apparatus, comprising:
- a. a substantially rigid first member having a surface;
- b. at least two sensors, each sensor having a first and second edge, wherein said first edge of each of said sensors maintains contact with said surface of said first member;
- c. a second member having a second surface, wherein said second edge of each of said sensors maintains contact with said second surface of said second member;
- and
- d. a lever disposed at a location between said first member and said second member such that said lever and said sensors prevent said first member from contacting said second member.
