Abstract
A method of purifying a salt of pemetrexed have a structure of formula (III) by salting-out, wherein if M3+ is H+, then each of M1+ and M2+ is independently H+, Li+, Na+ or K+, provided that both of them are not H+; if M3+ is Li+, Na+ or K+, then each of M1+ and M2+ is independently Li+, Na+ or K+.

A method of purifying a salt of pemetrexed having a structure of formula (III),
- by salting-out, wherein,
- if M3+ is H+, then each of M1+ and M2+ is independently H+, Li+, Na+ or K+, provided that both of M1+ and M2+ are not H+;
- and
- if M330 is Li+, Na+ or K+, then each of M1+ and M2+ is independently Li+, Na+ or K+.
A method of purifying a sodium salt of pemetrexed having a structure of formula (III),
- by salting the sodium salt of pemetrexed out from an aqueous solution containing the sodium salt of pemetrexed, one or more other water-soluble salts and optionally one or more water-miscible organic solvents;
- wherein if M3+ is H+ then each of M1+ and M2+ is independently H+ or Na+, provided that both of M1+ and M2+ are not H+;
- or each of M1+, M2+ and M3+ is Na+.
A method of purifying a disodium salt of pemetrexed having a structure of formula (III),
- by salting the disodium salt of pemetrexed out from an aqueous solution containing the disodium salt of pemetrexed, one or more other water-soluble sodium salts and optionally one or more water-miscible organic solvents;
- wherein M3+ is H+, and each of M1+ and M2+ is Na+.
