Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for preparation of Anagrelide Hydrochloride Monohydrate.

A process for preparation of Anagrelide Hydrochloride Monohydrate, which comprises;
- a) preparing a suspension of Anagrelide base in an alcohol;
- b) heating the suspension;
- c) adding water to the suspension;
- d) acidifying the suspension;
- e) refluxing the suspension;
- f) cooling the suspension;
- g) filtering the cooled suspension to collect the Anagrelide Hydrochloride Monohydrate crystals;
- and
- h) drying the wet Anagrelide Hydrochloride Monohydrate crystals.
