A ceramic article may comprise a sintered phase ceramic composition comprising aluminum titanate (Al2TiO5), zirconium titanate (ZrTiO4), and a niobium-doped phase.

A ceramic article, comprising:
- a sintered phase ceramic composition comprising aluminum titanate (Al2TiO5) zirconium titanate (ZrTiO4), and a niobium-doped phase.
A method for producing a ceramic article, the method comprising:
- forming a ceramic precursor batch composition into a green body, the ceramic precursor batch composition comprising at least an alumina source, a titania source, a zirconia source, and a niobium source;
- and
- firing the green body under conditions effective to convert the ceramic precursor batch composition into a sintered phase ceramic composition.
