Abstract
A connector assembly of a medical electrical device includes a plurality of electrical contacts, wherein at least one contact of the plurality of electrical contacts includes an electrical coupling receptacle. The electrical coupling receptacle of the at least one contact includes a first portion, which is adapted to receive a connector element of a medical electrical lead, and a second portion, in which a part of a feedthrough member extends, and to which the part of the feedthrough member is fixedly coupled.
Claims35
A medical electrical device comprising a housing, electronic circuitry enclosed within the housing, and a connector assembly mounted on the housing, the connector assembly comprising:
- a plurality of electrical contacts, at least one electrical contact of the plurality of electrical contacts including a longitudinal axis and an elongate electrical coupling receptacle including a first portion and a second portion, each of the first and second portions extending approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis, and the first portion adapted to receive a connector element mounted on a connector of a medical electrical lead;
- and
- a feedthrough member including a first part extending within the second portion of the electrical coupling receptacle of the at least one electrical contact and being fixedly coupled thereto, and a second part extending away from the electrical contact.
A medical electrical system comprising a medical electrical lead including a plurality of conductors, and a plurality of connector elements, each connector element of the plurality of connector elements being coupled to a corresponding conductor of the plurality of conductors, and a medical electrical device including a housing and a connector assembly mounted thereon, the connector assembly comprising:
- a plurality of electrical contacts, at least one electrical contact of the plurality of electrical contacts including a longitudinal axis and an elongate electrical coupling receptacle including a first portion and a second portion, each of the first and second portions extending approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis, and the first portion adapted to receive a connector element of the plurality of connector elements of the lead;
- and
- a feedthrough member including a first part extending within the second portion of the electrical coupling receptacle of the at least one electrical contact and being fixedly coupled thereto, and a second part extending away from the at least one electrical contact toward the housing.
An electrical contact for a medical electrical device connector assembly, the contact comprising a longitudinal axis and an elongate electrical coupling receptacle, the electrical coupling receptacle including a first portion and a second portion, each of the first and second portions extending approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis;
- the first portion being adapted to receive a connector element of a plurality of connector elements mounted on a connector of a medical electrical lead;
- and the second portion adapted to be fixedly coupled to a feedthrough element of the device.
