Abstract
The invention relates to a device for post-treatment of exhaust gases of a lean burning internal combustion engine, in particular a diesel internal combustion engine, with an exhaust gas channel in which downstream of a reducing agent metering device there is a catalytic converter for selective catalytic reduction as an SCR catalytic converter. According to the invention, the exhaust gas channel section which, viewed in the exhaust gas flow direction, extends between the reducing agent metering device and the SCR catalytic converter, is made as a preferably air gap-insulated exhaust gas channel section.
Claims19
A device for post-treatment of exhaust gases of a lean burning internal combustion engine, in particular a diesel internal combustion engine,
- with an exhaust gas channel in which downstream of a reducing agent metering device there is a catalytic converter for selective catalytic reduction as an SCR catalytic converter, wherein
- the exhaust gas channel section which, viewed in the exhaust gas flow direction extends between the reducing agent metering device and the SCR catalytic converter, is made as a thermally insulated, in particular air gap-insulated exhaust gas channel section.
In an internal combustion chamber having an exhaust gas conduit, a catalytic converter and means for injecting a reducing agent into exhaust gases flowing through said exhaust gas conduit, an assembly for accommodating a reaction of said reducing agent with certain constituents of said exhaust gases, comprising:
- a first conduit interconnecting said exhaust gas conduit and said catalytic converter for conducting said gases therebetween;
- and
- a second conduit encompassing and spaced from said first conduit providing an annular spacing therebetween.
An assembly according to claim 14 wherein one of said end sections includes a portion extending beyond an end of said first conduit, and receives and is connected to an end section of said exhaust gas conduit:
