Abstract
A method implemented in a test system comprises a test debug system and a target system, said target system comprising a test access port that functions according to a plurality of states and also comprising an adapter. The method comprises the adapter transferring data to the test debug system while the test access port remains in a predefined state. The predefined state comprises a state in which no scans occur.
Claims6
A process of operating adapter circuitry comprising:
- A. coupling mode select signals on a mode select in lead of the adapter circuitry to a mode select out lead of the adapter circuitry;
- B. coupling data from a data in lead of the adapter circuitry to a TDI lead of the adapter circuitry and from a TDO lead of the adapter circuitry to a data out lead of the adapter circuitry while the adapter is in a normal mode;
- B. receiving in a control register in the adapter circuitry background data transfer control signals indicating a background data transfer mode of the adapter circuitry;
- and
- C. shifting data on one of the data in lead and the data out lead while not coupling data from the data in lead to the TDI lead and from the TDO lead to the data out lead while the adapter is in the background data transfer mode.
