Abstract
A process concentrates nucleic acid molecules to be detected of a sample on a surface, with capture molecules that specifically bind the nucleic acid molecules. A support material has a capture probe that can specifically be linked to the nucleic acid molecules to be detected to give complexes. The support material and the nucleic acid molecules of the sample are incubated to form the complexes. The complexes are moved to the surface. At least one portion of the complexes becomes bound to the capture molecules via the capture probe.

A process for concentrating nucleic acid molecules of a sample, comprising:
- providing capture probes on a support material;
- combining the sample with the capture probes on the support material;
- incubating the sample and the capture probes on the support material such that the nucleic acid molecules specifically bind to the capture probes and form complexes on the support material;
- providing a surface with capture molecules;
- moving the support material and the complexes to the surface;
- and
- binding at least a portion of the complexes to the capture molecules on the surface.
A process for concentrating target nucleic acid molecules of a sample, comprising:
- providing a support material which can selectively bind to the target nucleic acid molecules;
- combining the sample with the support material;
- incubating the support material with the sample such that the target nucleic acid molecules bind to the support material to form complexes;
- providing a surface with capture molecules;
- moving the complexes to the surface;
- separating the target nucleic acid molecules from the support material;
- and
- binding at least one portion of the target nucleic acid molecules to the capture molecules.
A process for sorting and concentrating different nucleic acid molecules of a sample, comprising:
- providing a support material which can selectively bind to the different nucleic acid molecules to form complexes;
- incubating the support material with the sample to form complexes from the different nucleic acid molecules and the support material,
- providing at least first and second surfaces respectively having first and second capture molecules to selectively bind respectively to first and second nucleic acid molecules of the different nucleic acid molecules;
- moving the complexes to the first and second surfaces;
- separating the at least the first and second nucleic acid molecule from the support material, and
- binding the first nucleic acid molecules to the first capture molecules on the first surface and binding the second nucleic acid molecules to the second capture molecules on the second surface.
