Abstract
Isolated polynucleotides encoding Macaca fascicularis ST2L (Cyno ST2L), polypeptides obtainable from expression of these polynucleotides, recombinant cells, and methods of use are disclosed.

A method for determining cross-reactivity of a human ST2L modulator with Macaca fascicularis ST2L comprising:
- a. providing a ST2L modulator and a Macaca fascicularis ST2L isolated polypeptide comprising the sequence shown in SEQ ID NO:
- 2, SEQ ID NO:
- 4, SEQ ID NO:
- 6, or SEQ ID NO:
- 8;
- b. contacting the ST2L modulator with the Macaca fascicularis ST2L isolated polypeptide;
- and
- c. determining whether the ST2L modulator binds to the Macaca fascicularis ST2L isolated polypeptide.
A method for assessing the safety of a ST2L modulator comprising:
- a. providing a ST2L modulator, a first Macaca fascicularis monkey, and a second Macaca fascicularis monkey;
- b. administering the ST2L modulator to the first Macaca fascicularis monkey;
- and
- c. determining whether the first Macaca fascicularis monkey is presenting a deleterious symptom relative to the second monkey, where presentation of a deleterious symptom by the first Macaca fascicularis monkey shows the ST2L modulator is potentially unsafe for use in humans and a lack of presentation of a deleterious symptom by the first Macaca fascicularis monkey shows the ST2L therapeutic is potentially safe for use in humans.
