Abstract
Methods for identifying defects in blood vessels and treating such defects are provided. The methods comprise administering to a patient a composition comprising a labeled delivery ligand capable of preferentially accumulating at or near blood vessels defects. In some embodiments, the delivery ligand may carry one or more active agents to the defect.
Claims12
A method of identifying an injured tissue, the method comprising:
- administering to a patient a composition comprising a labeled delivery ligand, wherein the delivery ligand is capable of preferentially accumulating at or near a blood vessel defect;
- and
- detecting the location of the labeled delivery ligand.
A method of monitoring active agent delivery to injured tissue, the method comprising:
- administering to a patient a composition comprising a labeled delivery ligand and one or more active agents, wherein the delivery ligand is capable of of preferentially accumulating at or near a blood vessel defect;
- and
- detecting the labeled delivery ligand.
A method of monitoring treatment of damaged blood vessels:
- administering to the patient a composition comprising about 15 to about 60% weight per volume of labeled PEG and about 0.1% and about 20% weight per volume of one or more active agent;
- and
- monitoring therapeutic effect of the composition.
