Abstract
There is provided an optical fiber module including a reel having a flange on one side of both sides thereof, a first optical fiber being wound around the reel, a first adhesive being applied to a roll of the first optical fiber so that lines of the first optical fiber are fixed to each other and the roll of the first optical fiber is fixed to the flange of the reel, and a first sheet member being fixed to the roll of the first optical fiber with the first adhesive.
Claims9
An optical fiber module comprising:
- a reel having a flange on one side of both sides thereof;
- a first optical fiber being wound around the reel;
- a first adhesive being applied to a roll of the first optical fiber so that lines of the first optical fiber are fixed to each other and the roll of the first optical fiber is fixed to the flange of the reel;
- and
- a first sheet member being fixed to the roll of the first optical fiber with the first adhesive.
A method of making an optical fiber module comprising:
- attaching a reel to a rotating jig, the reel having a flange on one side of both sides thereof;
- placing a first sheet member on a portion of a surface of a gap-adjusting jig, the portion facing the flange;
- attaching the gap-adjusting jig to the rotating jig so that a first space is a distance between the flange of the reel and the portion on which the first sheet member is placed;
- winding a first optical fiber around the first space of the reel;
- applying a first adhesive to a roll of the first optical fiber so that lines of the first optical fiber are fixed to each other and the roll of the first optical fiber is fixed to the reel and the first sheet member;
- and
- separating the gap-adjusting jig from the rotating jig after the first adhesive is cured.
An optical fiber module comprising:
- a first optical fiber module;
- and
- a second optical fiber module being similar to the first optical fiber module and smaller than the first optical fiber module, the second optical fiber module being fitted into an opening of the first optical fiber module.
