Abstract
A method is disclosed for performing dual mode image rejection calibration in a receiver. A first image correction factor is acquired using a first known signal associated with a first signal band during a startup mode. The first image correction factor has a plurality of bits including most significant bits (MSBs) and least significant bits (LSBs). The LSBs of the first image correction factor are adjusted incrementally during a normal operation mode. A radio frequency (RF) signal associated with the first signal band is received using the first image correction factor during the normal operation mode.
Claims20
A method for use in a receiver system comprising:
- acquiring a first image correction factor using a first known signal associated with a first signal band during a startup mode, the first image correction factor having a plurality of bits including most significant bits (MSBs) and least significant bits (LSBs);
- adjusting incrementally the LSBs of the first image correction factor during a normal operation mode;
- and
- receiving a radio frequency (RF) signal associated with the first signal band using the first image correction factor during the normal operation mode.
A method for use in a receiver system comprising:
- acquiring an image correction factor using a first known signal during a startup mode, the image correction factor having a plurality of bits including most significant bits (MSBs) and least significant bits (LSBs);
- nudging the LSBs of the image correction factor during a normal operation mode;
- and
- receiving a radio frequency (RF) signal using the image correction factor during the normal operation mode.
A receiver system comprising:
- receiver circuitry having an input for receiving a radio frequency (RF) signal, and an output for providing an intermediate frequency (IF) signal;
- and
- an image correction and calibration subsystem coupled to the receiver circuitry and adapted to acquire an image correction factor for the receiver circuitry during a startup mode using a known signal having a frequency in approximately a center of a signal band, the image correction factor having a plurality of bits including most significant bits (MSBs) and least significant bits (LSBs), the image correction and calibration subsystem adapted to cause the receiver circuitry to receive the RF signal using the image correction factor and to adjust incrementally the LSBs of the image correction factor for the receiver circuitry during a normal operation mode using the RF signal.
