Abstract
Systems and techniques are disclosed wherein a gated pilot signal can be re-acquired faster by searching a last known pilot offset and/or searching a last coset in which the last pilot signal was found.
Claims20
A method of re-acquiring a gated pilot signal, comprising:
- determining if a gated pilot signal is lost;
- and
- searching a last coset in which the last gated pilot signal was found.
A method of re-acquiring a gated pilot signal, comprising:
- entering a pilot acquisition state;
- searching a last coset where the last gated pilot signal was found;
- synchronizing a subscriber station with a base station if said gated pilot signal is found;
- and
- entering steady state operation.
A method of re-acquiring a gated pilot signal, comprising:
- entering a pilot acquisition state;
- initializing a variable coset to zero;
- searching said coset;
- searching a next coset if said gated pilot signal is not found and not all said cosets have been searched;
- synchronizing a subscriber station with a base station if the gated pilot signal is found;
- and
- entering steady state operation.
An apparatus for re-acquiring a gated pilot signal, comprising:
- means for determining if a gated pilot signal is lost;
- and
- means for searching a last coset in which the last gated pilot signal was found.
An apparatus for re-acquiring a gated pilot signal, comprising:
- means for entering a pilot acquisition state;
- means for searching a last coset where a last gated pilot signal was found;
- means for synchronizing a subscriber station with a base station if a gated pilot signal is found;
- and
- means for entering steady state operation.
An apparatus for re-acquiring a gated pilot signal, comprising:
- means for entering a pilot acquisition state;
- means for initialize a variable coset to zero;
- means for searching said coset;
- means for searching a next coset group if said gated pilot signal is not found and not all said cosets have been searched;
- means for synchronizing a subscriber station with a base station if said gated pilot signal is found;
- and
- means for entering steady state operation.
A receiver, comprising:
- an antenna;
- an RF section operably connected to said antenna;
- a memory operably connected to said RF section, where a number of chips equal to or greater than a period of a gated pilot signal burst is stored;
- a demodulator operably connected to said searcher;
- a searcher operably connected to said demodulator and configured to search for a plurality of said gated pilot signals;
- and
- a processor coupled to the searcher and configured to select said gated pilot signal from a last coset in which the last said gated pilot signal was found.
A receiver, comprising:
- an antenna;
- an RF section operably connected to said antenna;
- a memory operably connected to said RF section, where a number of chips equal to or greater than a period of a gated pilot signal burst is stored;
- a demodulator operably connected to said searcher;
- a searcher operably connected to said demodulator and configured to search for a plurality of said gated pilot signals;
- and
- a processor coupled to the searcher and configured to enter a pilot acquisition state;
- initialize a variable coset to zero;
- search said coset;
- search a next coset group if said pilot is not found and not all said cosets have been searched;
- synchronize a subscriber station with a base station if a gated pilot signal is found;
- and
- enter steady state operation.
A computer-program product comprising:
- computer-readable medium comprising:
- code for causing a computer to re-acquire a gated pilot signal, comprising instructions to:
- determine if a gated pilot signal is lost;
- and
- search a last coset in which the last gated pilot signal was found.
