Apparatus for transmitting and receiving a signal and method of transmitting and receiving a signal

A method for transmitting a signal, the method comprising:

• encoding service data;
• building a signal frame including the encoded service data and preamble data, the preamble data comprising an effective portion, a cyclic prefix obtained by frequency-shifting a first portion of the effective portion, and a cyclic suffix obtained by frequency-shifting a second portion of the effective portion;
• and
• transmitting the signal frame.

A method for receiving a broadcasting signal, the method comprising:

• receiving a signal frame including service data and preamble data, the preamble data comprising an effective portion, a cyclic prefix obtained by frequency-shifting a first portion of the effective portion, and a cyclic suffix obtained by frequency-shifting a second portion of the effective portion;
• demodulating the received signal frame;
• and
• decoding the demodulated signal frame.

An apparatus for transmitting a signal, the apparatus comprising:

• an encoder configured to encode service data;
• a builder configured to build a signal frame including the encoded service data and preamble data, the preamble data comprising an effective portion, a cyclic prefix obtained by frequency-shifting a first portion of the effective portion, and a cyclic suffix obtained by frequency-shifting a second portion of the effective portion;
• and
• a transmitter configured to transmit the signal frame.

An apparatus for receiving a signal, the apparatus comprising:

• a receiver configured to receive a signal frame including service data and preamble data, the preamble data comprising an effective portion, a cyclic prefix obtained by frequency-shifting a first portion of the effective portion, and a cyclic suffix obtained by frequency-shifting a second portion of the effective portion;
• a demodulator configured to demodulate the received signal frame;
• and
• a decoder configured to decode the demodulated signal frame.
