Abstract
A relay device which forwards a packet received from a first device to a second device, the relay device includes a detection unit that detects that the relay device has been in a specified state, a generation unit that generates a packet that contains information for identifying the relay device and information indicating that the relay device is in the specified state when the detection unit detects that the relay device has been in the specified state, and a transmission unit that transmits the generated packet to a specific transmission destination.

A relay device that forwards a packet received from a first device to a second device, the relay device comprising:
- a detection unit that detects that the relay device has been in a specified state;
- a generation unit that generates a packet that contains information for identifying the relay device and information indicating that the relay device is in the specified state when the detection unit detects that the relay device has been in the specified state;
- and
- a transmission unit that transmits the generated packet to a specific transmission destination.
A state notifying method performed by a relay device that forwards a packet received from a first device to a second device, the method comprising:
- detecting that the relay device has been in a specified state;
- generating a packet that contains information for identifying the relay device and information indicating that the relay device is in the specified state when it is detected in the detecting that the relay device has been in the specified state;
- and
- transmitting the generated packet to a specific transmission destination.
A computer-readable storage medium encoded with a computer program to make a relay device that forwards a packet received from a first device to a second device notify a state of the relay device, the program when executed by a computer causes the computer to perform a method comprising:
- detecting that the relay device has been in a specified state;
- generating a packet that contains information for identifying the relay device and information indicating that the relay device is in the specified state when it is detected that the relay device has been in the specified state;
- and
- transmitting the generated packet to a specific transmission destination.
