Paper sheet processing apparatus, and paper sheet processing method

A paper sheet processing method comprising:

• receiving a paper sheet in a first substantially horizontal direction in a standby tray;
• receiving the paper sheet dropped from the standby tray in a processing tray under the standby tray;
• contacting the rear end of the paper sheet received in the processing tray along the first direction with a stopper;
• supporting the rear end of the paper sheet received in the standby tray with a tab of a feed member provided between the standby tray and processing tray, tapping the rear end of this paper sheet downward with a stick, scraping and sending the paper sheet dropped onto the processing tray to the stopper with an elastic paddle, and guiding the rear end of the paper sheet received in the standby tray to the processing tray, scraping and sending the paper sheet dropped onto the processing tray to the stopper, and colliding the rear end of the paper sheet with the stopper by rotating a rotary unit connected to the proximal ends of the tab, stick and paddle;
• and
• pressing down the rear end of a paper sheet received in the standby tray and supported by the tab with a press member, and clamping the rear end of the paper sheet by the press member cooperating with the tab.
