Abstract
A multiple rotor wind turbine, having variable angular and/or axial displacements between the two or more rotors. The variation in angle and axial displacement between the rotors (and the corresponding turbine blades affixed to said rotors) control the torque characteristics of the turbine at varying wind speeds.
Claims34
A wind turbine blade assembly for a wind turbine, comprising:
- a. a front rotor having at least one front blade;
- b. a rear rotor having at least one rear blade;
- wherein an angular displacement between the front blade and the rear blade is adjustable, and the front rotor and the rear rotor are configured to rotate in the same direction when the wind turbine is in operation.
A wind turbine blade assembly for a wind turbine, comprising:
- a. a front rotor having at least one front blade;
- b. a rear rotor having at least one rear blade;
- wherein an axial displacement between the front blade and the rear blade is adjustable, and the front rotor and the rear rotor are configured to rotate in the same direction when the wind turbine is in operation.
