Abstract
The present invention provides a nanostructure comprising a plurality of nanoridges wherein the height of each nanoridge is modulated whereby to form one or more peaks (e.g. a series of peaks) along the length of each nanoridge.

A nanostructure comprising a plurality of nanoridges, wherein the height of each nanoridge is modulated to form one or more peaks along the length of each nanoridge, wherein peaks on adjacent nanoridges are out of phase with each other, and wherein each peak has a height in a range of from 10% to 90% of the total height of the nanoridge on which the peak is formed.
