Abstract
A steam trap system including a steam trap having a steam inlet and a water collector that can collect water. An orifice arrangement is included having a plurality of valved orifices spaced apart from each other at different heights. Selected valved orifices can be configured to open as water in the water collector rises and reaches the height of the selected valved orifices, allowing the water to be removed from the water collector.

A steam trap system comprising:
- a. a steam trap having an inlet;
- b. a water collector for collecting water;
- c. an orifice arrangement having a plurality of valved orifices spaced apart from each other at different heights, selected valved orifices configured to open as water in the water collector rises and reaches the height of said selected valved orifices allowing the water to be removed from the water collector.
The steam trap system of claim 48 in which the orifice arrangement comprises an orifice member extending upwardly in the water collector.
A steam trap system comprising:
- a. A first steam trap positioned at a first elevation;
- b. A second steam trap positioned at a second elevation, wherein said first steam trap is connected to said second steam trap in a parallel configuration and said first elevation is unequal to said second elevation;
- c. A valve system, wherein said valve system is positioned to control flow into said first and second steam traps.
An air purge device comprising:
- a. an inlet;
- and,
- b. an orifice arrangement downstream from the inlet having a plurality of individually operated valved orifices, the valved orifices configured to open when exposed to air to purge air and close when exposed to steam.
