## Abstract

Abrasion resistance can be improved without impairing tip cut resistance by using polybutadiene comprising specific syndiotactic-1,2-polybutadiene in a tread rubber. Namely, the present invention provides a rubber composition for a tread which comprises a rubber component comprising 10 to 30% by weight of a butadiene rubber in which syndiotactic-1,2-polybutadiene having an average primary particle diameter of not more than 100 nm is dispersed in the butadiene rubber.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A rubber composition for a tread, which comprises:
a rubber component comprising 10 to 30% by weight of a butadiene rubber in which syndiotactic-1,2-polybutadiene having an average primary particle diameter of not more than 100 nm is dispersed in said butadiene rubber, and
carbon black having a nitrogen adsorbing-specific surface area of 120 to 170 m2/g.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The rubber composition for a tread of claim 1, further comprising not less than 40% by weight of a natural rubber in said rubber component.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

A tire having a tread, which comprises the rubber composition for a tread of claim 1.

### Claim 4

A rubber composition for a tread, which is used for a studless tire and comprises a rubber component comprising 10 to 30% by weight of a butadiene rubber in which syndiotactic-1,2-polybutadiene having an average primary particle diameter of not more than 100 nm is dispersed in said butadiene rubber.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The rubber composition for a tread of claim 4, further comprising not less than 40% by weight of a natural rubber in said rubber component.

### Claim 6 (depends on 4)

A studless tire having a tread, which comprises the rubber composition for a tread of claim 4.
