## Abstract

N-Substituted heteroaryl (substituted)alkyl sulfoximines are effective at controlling insects.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of controlling insects which comprises applying to a locus where control is desired an insect-inactivating amount of a compound of the formula (I)
wherein
Het represents
Y represents halogen, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 haloalkyl, C2-C4 alkenyl, C2-C4 haloalkenyl, C2-C4 alkynyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, C1-C4 haloalkoxy, CN, or NO2;
X represents NO2, CN, or COOR7;
n and m independently represent integers from 0-1;
R1 represents C1-C4 alkyl;
R2 represents H, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 haloalkyl, C2-C4 alkenyl, C2-C4 haloalkenyl, C2-C4 alkynyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, C1-C4 haloalkoxy, C1-C4 alkoxy substituted C1-C4 alkyl, halo, CN, COOR7, COR8, CONR7R8, aryl, or arylalkyl;
R3 represents H, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 haloalkyl, C2-C4 alkenyl, C2-C4 haloalkenyl, C2-C4 alkynyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, C1-C4 haloalkoxy, C1-C4 alkoxy substituted C1-C4 alkyl, halo, CN, SOpR6, COOR7, CONR7R8, aryl, or arylalkyl;
R4 represents H, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 haloalkyl, C2-C4 alkenyl, C2-C4 haloalkenyl, C2-C4 alkynyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, C1-C4 haloalkoxy, CN, SOpR6, COOR7, CONR7R8, aryl, or arylalkyl;
R5 represents H, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 haloalkyl, C2-C4 alkenyl, C2-C4 haloalkenyl, C2-C4 alkynyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, C1-C4 haloalkoxy, CN, SOpR6, COOR7, CONR7R8, aryl, or arylalkyl;
R6 represents C1-C4 alkyl or C1-C4 haloalkyl;
R7 represents C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 haloalkyl, C3-C6 alkenyl, C3-C6 alkynyl, C3-C6 haloalkenyl, aryl, or arylalkyl; and
R8 represents H, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 haloalkyl, C3-C6 alkenyl, C3-C6 alkynyl, C3-C6 haloalkenyl, aryl, or arylalkyl;
