## Abstract

A device and a method for programming the read/writeable memory of the RFID circuitry by communications between either RF antenna (12) or bus communications port controller interface (4) or both. In a peripheral device (1), an EEPROM (6), bus communications controller interface (4), NFC interface (8), antenna (12), and logic controller (10) operate to receive and transmit configuration and calibration data between a Bluetooth circuit (40) and an external device (22). The dual interfaced EEPROM (2) shares or partitions its EEPROM (6) between the Bluetooth circuit (40) and the external device (22).

## Claims

### Claim 1

A device comprising:
a memory comprising two interfaces wherein a first interface is a passive near field communication (NFC) interface and a second interface is a data interface;
an NFC antenna, connected to said passive NFC interface, for communicating NFC signals with a first external device; and
a microprocessor based circuit in data communication with said second interface.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein said microprocessor based circuit is a Bluetooth circuit.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, further comprising an antenna connected to said microprocessor based circuit for communication with said second external device.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein said first external device and said second external device are the same device.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein said memory is an electronically erasable programmable read only memory (EEPROM).

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein said second external device is a Bluetooth enabled device.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein said memory stores authentication data received from said NFC interface.

### Claim 8 (depends on 2)

The device of claim 2, wherein said memory stores Bluetooth configuration data in a predetermined memory location and wherein said Bluetooth circuit uses said Bluetooth configuration data to enable communication with said second external device.
