Abstract
A method and apparatus for providing security to an endpoint device are disclosed. For example, the method receives a signaling message by the endpoint device. The method processes the signaling message, if the signaling message is received from a device associated with one of one or more Internet Protocol (IP) addresses in an Access Control List (ACL), and discards the signaling message, if the signaling message is received from a device not associated with one of the one or more IP addresses in the ACL.
Claims20
A method for providing security to an endpoint device, comprising:
- receiving a signaling message by the endpoint device;
- processing said signaling message, if said signaling message is received from a device associated with one of one or more Internet Protocol (IP) addresses in an Access Control List (ACL);
- and
- discarding said signaling message, if said signaling message is received from a device not associated with one of said one or more IP addresses in said ACL.
A computer-readable medium having stored thereon a plurality of instructions, the plurality of instructions including instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform steps of a method for providing security to an endpoint device, comprising:
- receiving a signaling message by the endpoint device;
- processing said signaling message, if said signaling message is received from a device associated with one of one or more Internet Protocol (IP) addresses in an Access Control List (ACL);
- and
- discarding said signaling message, if said signaling message is received from a device not associated with one of said one or more IP addresses in said ACL.
An apparatus for processing a signaling message, comprising:
- means for receiving the signaling message;
- means for processing said signaling message, if said signaling message is received from a device associated with one of one or more Internet Protocol (IP) addresses in an Access Control List (ACL);
- and
- means for discarding said signaling message, if said signaling message is received from a device not associated with one of said one or more IP addresses in said ACL.
