Abstract
A system may store program information associated with a group of video programs. The program information may include a program description associated with a particular video program of the group of video programs. The system may receive an instruction to provide the program description, read the program description in response to the received instruction, obtain an advertisement that is related to a content of the particular video program, and present the program description and the advertisement to a video display device, where the advertisement is presented adjacent to the program description on a screen of the video display device.
Claims25
A device connected to a video display device, comprising:
- a memory to store program information associated with a plurality of video programs, the program information including a program description associated with a particular video program of the plurality of video programs;
- and
- a processor to:
- receive an instruction to provide the program description,
- read, in response to the received instruction, the program description from the memory,
- obtain an advertisement that is related to a content of the particular video program, and
- present the program description and the advertisement to the video display device, where the advertisement is presented adjacent to the program description on a screen of the video display device.
A computer-readable medium containing instructions executable by a processor, the computer-readable medium comprising:
- one or more instructions to receive an instruction to provide a program description associated with a video program;
- one or more instructions to obtain, in response to the received instruction, the program description;
- one or more instructions to generate a request for an advertisement that is related to a content of the video program;
- one or more instructions to output the request on a network;
- one or more instructions to receive, based on the request, the advertisement from the network;
- and
- one or more instructions to present the program description and the advertisement to a video display device for concurrent presentation on a screen of the video display device.
A method performed by one or more devices, comprising:
- identifying, by the one or more devices, a program description associated with a video program;
- identifying, by the one or more devices, a plurality of tags corresponding to a content of the video program;
- obtaining, by the one or more devices, a plurality of advertisements based on the plurality of tags;
- presenting, by the one or more devices, the program description on a video display device;
- and
- presenting, by the one or more devices, one of the plurality of advertisements adjacent to the program description on the video display device.
