Quick-access menu for mobile device

A device, comprising:

• a memory to store a plurality of instructions;
• and
• a touch-sensitive display;
• and
• a processor to execute instructions in the memory to:
• display, on the touch-sensitive display, a multi-button menu icon and a group of application icons associated with one of the buttons of the multi-button menu icon;
• receive a touch on the multi-button menu icon displayed on the touch-sensitive display;
• activate the multi-button menu icon based on the touch;
• track a changing location of the touch;
• identify buttons of the multi-button menu icon associated with the changing location of the touch;
• and
• display, on the touch-sensitive display, a group of application icons associated with the identified buttons of the multi-button menu icon.

A device, comprising:

• means for displaying a multi-button menu icon on a screen of the device;
• means for receiving a user input to activate the multi-button menu icon;
• means for identifying a button of the multi-button menu icon associated with a location of the user input;
• means for displaying, on the screen of the device, a group of application icons associated with the identified button of the multi-button menu icon;
• means for tracking a changing location of the user input;
• means for identifying another button of the multi-button menu icon based on the changing location of the user input;
• means for displaying a group of application icons associated with the other identified button of the multi-button menu icon;
• and
• means for detecting another user input to select one of the application icons from the group of application icons associated with the identified second button of the multi-button menu icon.
