Abstract
An information processing device is provided. The information processing device which operates upon receipt of power supply from a power unit connected to an alternative current power source or from a battery includes an obtaining unit which obtains load information of parts included in the information processing device itself, a deciding unit which decides a voltage value to be supplied by the power unit which supplies electric power to the information processing device, based on the load information obtained by the obtaining unit, and an output unit which outputs a signal relative to the voltage value decided by the deciding unit to the power unit.
Claims17
An information processing device which operates upon receipt of power supply from a battery or a power unit connected to an alternating current source, comprising:
- an obtaining unit that obtains load information of an inside part different from the battery;
- a deciding unit that decides a voltage value to be output by the power unit, based on the load information obtained by the obtaining unit;
- and
- an output unit that outputs to the power unit a signal indicating the voltage value decided by the deciding unit.
An information processing system having a power unit connected to an alternating current source and an information processing device which operates upon receipt of power supply from the power unit or a battery, wherein
- the information processing device includes
- an obtaining unit which obtains load information of an inside part different from the battery,
- a deciding unit which decides a voltage value to be output by the power unit, based on the load information obtained by the obtaining unit, and
- an output unit which outputs a signal indicating the voltage value decided by the deciding unit to the power unit, while
- the power unit
- includes a conversion unit which converts a voltage value output to the information processing device into a voltage value corresponding to the signal output by the output unit.
A computer program product stored on a tangible computer readable medium for controlling a computer which operates upon receipt of power supply from a power unit connected to an alternating current source or a battery, the computer program product comprising computer executable instructions that cause a computer to execute:
- obtaining load information of an inside part different from the battery,
- deciding a voltage value to be output by the power unit, based on the obtained load information, through a control unit, and
- outputting a signal relative to the decided voltage value to the power unit.
A controller installed in an information processing device which operates upon receipt of power supply from a power unit connected to an alternating current source or a battery, in order to control a voltage to be supplied from the power unit to the information processing device, comprising:
- an obtaining unit that obtains load information of a part inside the information processing device different from the battery;
- a deciding unit that decides a voltage value to be output by the power unit, based on the load information obtained by the obtaining unit;
- and
- an output unit that outputs to an outside a signal indicating the voltage value decided by the deciding unit.
A method of controlling an information processing device which operates upon receipt of power supply from a power unit connected to an alternating current power source or a battery, wherein the information processing device
- obtains load information of an inside part different from the battery,
- decides a voltage value to be output by the power unit, based on the obtained load information, through a control unit, and
- outputs to the power unit a signal indicating the decided voltage value.
A device, comprising:
- an obtaining unit capable of obtaining load information of a part of the device different from an internal battery;
- a calculator that calculates a voltage value to be output based on the obtained load information;
- and
- an output unit, which outputs to a power unit connected to an alternating current source, a signal indicating the calculated voltage value.
A method performed by a processor, comprising:
- obtaining load information of a part a device different from a power source;
- calculating a voltage value to be output by a power unit through a control unit based on the obtained load information;
- and
- outputting to the power unit a signal indicating the calculated voltage value.
