Method for Verifying the Authenticity of Messages Exchanged According to a Mobile Internet Protocol

A method for verifying authenticity of messages exchanged between a mobile node and a home agent in accordance with a mobile Internet Protocol, with a cryptographic method used for verifying the authenticity of the messages being agreed between the mobile node and the home agent, comprising:

• creating a registration request by the mobile node listing cryptographic methods supported by the mobile node;
• verifying the authenticity of the registration request by the mobile node using a first cryptographic method;
• sending the registration request, after authentication, from the mobile node to the home agent;
• checking the authenticity of the registration request by the home agent;
• and
• selecting, by the home agent If the home agent establishes the authenticity of the registration request, a second cryptographic method mutually supported by the mobile node and the home agent.

A method for verifying the authenticity of messages exchanged between a foreign agent and a home agent in accordance with a mobile Internet Protocol, with a cryptographic method used for verifying the authenticity of the messages being agreed between the foreign agent and the home agent, comprising:

• creating a registration request by the foreign agent listing cryptographic methods supported by the foreign agent;
• verifying the authenticity of the registration request by the foreign agent using a first cryptographic method;
• sending the registration request, after authentication, from the foreign agent to the home agent;
• checking the authenticity of the registration request by the home agent;
• and
• selecting, by the home agent If the home agent establishes the authenticity of the registration request, a second cryptographic method mutually supported by the foreign agent and the home agent.
