Abstract
Methods and related systems for controlling jitter effects are disclosed.
Claims5
A method of controlling effects of variation in computational latency, the method comprising:
- using a processor to perform computations associated with a signal processing process;
- allocating a processing cost per computation that is less than a maximum processing cost of the processor for performing any one of the computations and greater than an average processing cost of the processor for performing the computations;
- and
- handling a task requiring a processing time greater than the allocated processing cost as a source of jitter in the signal processing process.

An apparatus for controlling effects of variation in computational latency, the apparatus configured to:
- use a processor to perform computations associated with a signal processing process;
- allocate a processing cost per computation that is less than a maximum processing cost of the processor for performing any one of the computations and greater than an average processing cost of the processor for performing the computations;
- and
